The internet is a great way to advertise and allow people to know more about your daycare business. A lot of people over do their website that instead of enticing people to visit them, people often end up leaving their site. Here are a few things you need to avoid when creating your own daycare business website.
Impressions are a great tool to work with and leaving a good lasting one can drive people to your doorstep. You would want your website to look professional yet fun to visit. You do not want people to see a website where they will die of a heart attack or would not take you seriously.
As much as possible make your website user-friendly and show only what is necessary and the highlights of your business. You can give them information that they might want to know and that will entice them to make inquiries.
Here are some things to avoid on your website as to not drive away your potential customers.
• Pop Ups. Yes avoid pop-ups specially those that continuously appear where the customer is left with nothing else to do but close these annoying things.
• Too much banners. Everything in excess is bad. Banners can slow down the loading time of your website so you have to minimize using them and make sure they are related to your website. You do not want to put banners to distract your clients in to visiting the banners instead of your webpage.
• Website addresses these days are not that expensive anymore. Free website addresses are great for personal use but they can be too difficult to type down or put in your business cards. Domain servers are now offered at a very low price and setting them up is quite easy.
• Free web hosting is not that great in serious business. They tend to advertise on your webpage and usually you have no control over these advertisements. Remember this is your website and you would want to be able to control the traffic of who visits your page. You don’t want people to visit your website and then leave just because they found the advertisement interesting for another website right?
• Music and videos. Your website is about daycare not MTV. You can put music and videos if you want to but be sure that the visitor will have the option to lower down the music or turn the video on and off. You do not want to annoy your visitor by a blaring music that would more likely wake up the entire neighborhood.
• Make your website easy to navigate. Make sure that the information is easy to be accessed and would only be a click away. Try not to let your website visitors to keep clicking just to find out how to contact you. The simpler the better.
These are just few things to consider in putting up your own website. If you prefer not to follow these simple tips… you can always experiment on what will work for you.
